The Nowhere Man is Patrick Vacek. Back in the day, I started out by just recording cover songs in the comfort of my own home. Eventually I realized that it wasn't that hard to write my own music, so I adopted the moniker Folkor and ended up playing several shows in the Kansas City, Kansas area using just my electric guitar and poorly trained voice. I recorded a couple albums around that time, but they aren't particularly good, so you shouldn't worry too much about them.

In 2005, I moved to Saint Louis, Missouri, where I began to make music with a variety of musicians and bands. I kept writing songs and recording demos, but never dedicated the time and energy to record an album. I did manage to play a couple shows with as many bands and I occasionally would play a few of my own songs live. In 2008, I rechristened myself The Nowhere Man and finally recorded There and Back Again, which features songs about people, places, and things falling from the sky. After another year of songwriting and infrequent public appearances, I recorded Post Rock Country in 2009.

Shortly after releasing that album, I flew to Germany to spend a year living there. After purchasing a German-made acoustic guitar, I began writing songs about my experiences there. When I returned to Saint Louis in 2010, I took that material and commenced recording A Double Life, which somehow took six months to complete.

I am also a member of Missing Values. You can listen to our music at http://missingvalues.bandcamp.com/. I also occasionally write about music and these musings can be found at http://patricksmusic.blogspot.com/.
